Now that Pantone has released the official color report for fall 2012, and the autumn runways are underway, Fashionistas can start making educated buying decisions when it comes to items that can be worn now and into the fall season. One of the biggest spring trends is the solid colored pump. The solid colored pump is an easy way to incorporate fall colors into a spring wardrobe since the solid colored pump trend is continuing into fall 2012.

Since color is an important trend, when shopping for spring pumps it is important to make wise color choices. By purchasing colors for spring which are part of the fall color palette, a savvy-shopper can save money on shoes by not having to purchase new pumps for the fall season! Love it!

We love the fall color palette which contains many shades that can be found on store shelves this season. Our favorite colors to invest in for the spring and fall seasons? We love bright blue, green, rose and Tangerine. The perfect neutral is the pale grey as it plays well with spring’s bright colors, blends easily with pastels and is one of the hottest neutral hues on the fall 2012 runways. Love that!

Pantone releases the fall 2012 color report

Pantone has released their color report for the fall 2012 season. While the authority on color released their color forecasts for the fall and winter season last October, the official report was released on the first day of New York Fashion Week; February 9, 2012.

The color reports for women and men are quite similar. Tangerine Tango, the "IT" color for 2012 was on the list as well as bright blue, medium pink and a soft purple shade named "Rhapsody."

The color report shows that bright colors are staying put for the cool weather season while lighter, pastel shades are slowly creeping into the spectrum. Grey also made the list as a top color for fall, signaling the neutral hue could be used in place of black for the cool weather season.

Pantone's fall 2012 color report helps shopper make buying decisions during the spring season since Fashionista's now have a sneak peek into which colors have staying power and which shades are fleeting trends.

Color blocking is huge for spring; of course we do not need to remind you The color blocking trend is one of the well-loved trends of the season and it can be found on store shelves everywhere. Therefore, it is no wonder that color blocked dresses are huge for the warm weather season and a must-have staple in any Fashionistas spring 2012 wardrobe.

Color blocked dresses are found in every fabrication this spring including silk, cotton and even Herve Leger’s famous bandage dresses. While there are no rules when it comes to color blocking, greens and blues are being grouped together while pinks and oranges are finding themselves as a pair. Many designers have thrown neutrals into the mix such as pale grey with yellow and orange as seen in BCBG's collection and white with green and navy as seen in Eliza J's collection.

When it comes to color blocked dresses for spring, accessories can pick up one of the colors in the dress or stay neutral in shades of beige, tan, and grey or white. The color blocked dress is definitely a hot trend right now which looks like it will continue into fall.

How to get Rose Byrne’s make-up look from the 2012 SAG Awards

Rose Byrne glowed on the red carpet at last week’s 2012 SAG Awards. Her skin was flawless and her make-up was natural yet glamorous. Rose Byrne’s skincare routine for the SAG Awards involved La Mer products and her make-up was by Joe Fresh.

Rose Byrne’s make-up artist Hung Vanngo has shared with us how he applied her make-up to give her a fabulous, red carpet ready look and which products he used to achieve perfection. The following text was provided by Joe Fresh Cosmetics and written by make-up artist Hung Vanngo:

"I was recommended to Rose Byrne by celebrity hair guru Harry Josh about a year ago, since then I've had the pleasure of working with her many times. Rose is one of the nicest and most genuine clients that I have, but in addition to her wonderful character is the bonus of her being absolutely gorgeous. This is the first award show that I am working with her on and she is wearing a white sequined jumpsuit that has a ‘70s feeling to it. We all discussed the look for hair and makeup together and decided to keep it very minimal, nothing too overly done. Soft and sexy is the look - a nice blowout for the hair and for make-up we will just create beautiful skin and sexy eyes. She looks absolutely ravishing!!!" –Hung Vanngo

GET THE LOOK:

1. I prepped Rose's skin with La Mer Moisturizing Lotion, La Mer Eye Balm, and La Mer Lip Balm. Rose has really beautiful skin, so after prepping, I only applied very little of Joe Fresh Primer, Joe Fresh Tinted Moisturizer in "Bisque" and Joe Fresh Duo Concealer in "Light."

2. For the eyes, I used Joe Fresh Eyeliner Pencil in "Charcoal" along the upper and lower lash lines, more intense on the upper lash line, then blended really well.

3. After that I applied 2 Cream Eyeshadows, Joe Fresh cream shadows in "Cactus" and "Playa." I used "Playa" all over upper lids and lower lids , then "Cactus" for inner corner of the eyes, blending well toward the other cream shadow.

4. After that, I used same Eyeliner Pencil to rim the inner of her eyes to add more depth on the eyes.

5. Finally, two coats of Joe Fresh Lash Plump Volumizing Mascara in "Black" on both upper and lower lashes.

6. I used a beautiful Joe Fresh Cream Blush in "Rose" to give some colors on her cheeks, and set them with Joe Fresh Powder Blush in "Rosette."

7. Then I added Joe Fresh Highlighter on top of cheekbones, top of nose, and forehead to make the skin look extra luminous and to add more dimension to the face.

8. For the lips, I used Joe Fresh lip liner in "Cinnamon" and Joe Fresh lip gloss in "Chai."

9. To finish, I used Joe Fresh Translucent Loose Powder mainly on the t-zone to set her makeup.

Go Red for heart disease during the month of February

On Friday, February 3, 2012, women everywhere wore red in honor of National Wear Red day. National Wear Red day kicked off Heart Disease Awareness Month which is the month of February. Wearing red during the month of February helps to raise awareness of heart disease.

Heart disease is the number one killer of women. Symptoms are harder to detect in women, than in men. Heart disease, which is also known as cardiovascular disease, is related to plaque buildup in the walls of the arteries. This can lead to a heart attack or stroke.

Although National Wear Red Day has passed, we can still help raise awareness during national Heart Disease Awareness Month by wearing something with red. Of course, since the spring 2012 season is all about color, it should not be too hard to incorporate red into our wardrobes for the month February

Rock The Runway SF took place yesterday at The Clift Hotel in downtown San Francisco and featured local designers as well as a guest appearance by Nene Leakes and performances by Kim Hill and Nesta Rae. This amazing event benefited local charity organization Lifting Up Lives which empowers women who are victims of domestic abuse.

Guests of the event were treated to a gourmet brunch, speech by Nene Leakes, performances by Kim Hill and Nesta Rae and a runway show which featured local designers from the San Francisco Bay Area.

Cameron Diaz was spotted wearing a polka dot, Christian Dior dress at Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture in January, also known as Mode a Paris. Cameron Diaz’s dress offered a vintage, 1950’s style which was also found on many of the haute couture and ready-to-wear runways for spring 2012. The well-loved actress paired her polka dot dress with strappy high heels and skinny belt. Love it!

Sky high hair for 2012

Every twenty to thirty years hair seems to go to extremes. In the 1960’s, women backcombed their hair and created hairstyles which towered a few inches above their scalps. During the 1970’s, hair fell down and went natural and flat. Then came the decadent 1980’s and hair went back up to the sky. Who can forget the smell of Aqua Net? Then, hair went back down to the ground in the 1990’s and stayed that way . . . until now.

2012 is the year of big hair. Yes, you read that right. Hair is big, Big, BIG! Celebrities, socialites and fashion trend setters everywhere are starting to increase the size of their hair. Thankfully, the fabulous Fabian Lliguin, stylist and Founder of Rahua Haircare has given us his tips to help us recreate a few notable celebrities big hair; this way we can be the first on our block to sport the high do’s. Love that!

Best foundation for all of these looks is to use Rahua Voluminous Shampoo and Conditioner prior.

Drew Barrymore: DREW - Tousled hair, with lots of body

Work with slightly damp hair. Tilt head so it is completely upside down and apply Rahua Voluminous Spray from root to ends, then follow, again from roots to ends, with a blow dryer blasting hot air. Once hair is dry, flip head upright. Apply Rahua Finishing Treatment on ends, and pull pieces up into hot rollers for 5 to 10 minutes. Remove rollers and shape the style with your fingers.

On damp hair apply Rahua Voluminous Spray from roots to ends. Flip upside down and dry. Bring head back, and dab Rahua Voluminous Conditioner on ends only. Using a 1/2-inch barrel curling iron work the hair ends in medium sections. Massage curls with a drop of Elixir for added shine.

On damp hair apply Rahua Voluminous Spray from root to ends and blast them with a hair dryer until completely dry. Use a round brush to create and shape waves from mid-shaft to ends. Backcomb crown area, then smooth hair back away from face and spray hair again, use a final blast of hot air from the dryer to set.

Spring 2012 fashion trends for men: the bright suit

With the bright color trend in full swing for spring, it is no wonder that the trend translates into the world of men’s fashion. Normally found sporting black, navy or charcoal suits, men will be shying away from the boring suit of yesteryear and going full force into expressing their inner Male Fashion Maven by sporting bright and bold suits. That’s right, fashion forecasters, such as the ones at Pantone have declared that men will be bright this spring and summer. We can only hope.

Bright and colorful ties, shirts and handkerchiefs have already popped up in traditional black, navy and charcoal men’s suiting, but now, the color is transferring into the suit itself. It should be interesting to see if this trend ends up on the street. Will men push their traditional, boring suits which they have been wearing for the past thirty years into the back of their closets? Or will men laugh at this trend and continue to follow color trends with their tie, not their entire suit. It should be interesting to see if this trend takes to the street.
